At yesterday's investor's meeting, Steve Jobs had quite a bit to say about the possibility of Flash on the iPhone, and in fact stated that it was unlikely due to the poor engineering of the Flash engine.

This AppleInsider article details some very good reasons that we're not likely to see Flash on our iPhones anytime in the near future, and even worse, it makes sense.

Perhaps it's time for us to consider AJAX/H.264 alternatives in our web video and animation?

Yea I read this earlier just posted it on the main news, it's pretty disappointing if we don't see some form of flash or alternative in the near future.

since there is no flash on the iPhone i use things like videohamster.com and iTransmogrify.com its the closest to flash for the iphone atm... just doesnt work on every websight =(

And there's the fact that the iPhone's processor isn't fast enough to handle useful flash, even at low quality.
