Mac Junkie

OK, I am new to the Mac and so far I am loving it and having lots of fun! But from time to time I find I get stumped on some stuff.

Currently I have been using the screen capture feature - cmd-shift-4 to select shots I want. It saves the screen cap to the desktop. That's cool.

What I found on the Apple site was that you can also save the screen cap to the clipboard.

Now here 's is my 'dumb' question that I hope you can help me with.....

I am unable to find the 'Clipboard' to open and then use the files there. Where is clipboard located on my Mac? I am sure it's an easy thing but as an EX-Windows user, I have yet to 'get to know' the clipboard.

Any help is very much appreciated!

Below is a screen shot on my current project!

Just like on Windows, you can use Command (control in windows) V to paste whatever is in the clipboard. If you would like to view/save your image go to Preview>File>New from clipboard, then save as.

This also works in any image editor such as Adobe Photoshop or GIMP. Just use the Command V shortcut or Edit>Paste in the top menu.

While the question was already answered, I'd like to add to the discussion of the Clipboard.

An application called Jumpcut is a daily life saver to me. It expands the clipboard to include everything you have ever copied/cut and has a drop down menu to allow you to paste.

So I can cut a piece of text, continue my work, cut 15 more pieces, and three hours later copy the first piece I cut back in when I need it.

If your a super-productivity geek like me, it's one little app you shouldn't be without.

Oh wow, I need something like that for Photoshop. Can you reply with a URL?

Sorry for the late reply, life has been very chaotic on me of late.

Yeah, same here. You should see the nasty hole in the wall in the lobby of the office I work in.
Thanks for the URL!
